Griffin Connell Obituary
Griffin Connell

Paradise Valley - Griffin James Connell, 7 years old, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning with his parents by his side. Born on June 29, 2010, Griffin was diagnosed at birth with a very rare complex airway disorder. Despite long odds, Griffin endured countless surgeries over the years and was an inspiration to all with his larger than life personality and unwavering determination. He lived an amazingly full life in such a short time. Griffin developed a love for all sports, especially golf, football, and bowling, and loved watching movies and playing video games. However, his passion was being with his loving siblings, family, friends, and his second family at Phoenix Children's Hospital and Ryan House. Griffin never met anyone who he didn't consider a friend and left a lasting impression on everyone. Griffin is survived by his dad (Jim), mom (Amy), his older brother Cameron and three sisters, Maggie, Kate, and Courtney, in addition to his grandparents John and Connie Griffin and Jim and Dorothy Connell, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death and welcomed into Heaven by his loving paternal grandmother, Kathleen Connell. Griffin will be laid to rest this Saturday, January 27th. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Scottsdale, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, we recommend a donation in Griffin's memory at one of the following organizations that has been instrumental in Griffin's life: Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation, Ryan House, Hope Kids, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Scottsdale.
