Jordan, Helen A.
99, of Glendale, Arizona passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2013. She was born to Frank and Gertrude Morgan October 24, 1913 in Okawville, IL. Upon graduating from Belleville High School, she earned a RN degree from Jewish Hospital in St. Louis MO. In 1938 she married Fred C. Jordan of Phoenix, AZ. They moved to Phoenix upon his completion of medical school. She had a very adventurous life even being in Hawaii during the attack on Pearl Harbor. She and her husband raised two daughters and two sons. When her children were raised, she went back to nursing and continued working until she was 75 years old. Her number one interest was world history and politics. She was politically active in the Arizona Democratic Party and attended the l960 National Convention as a delegate. She was proud to be a liberal and wanted to help people. Her love for animals continued throughout her life, and she always had a dog as a companion. She loved living in Arizona and enjoyed gardening. She is preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, two brothers, her son, Richard Jordan, and two grandsons, Mike and Tim Fee. She is survived by her sister, Frances Dreyer of Steeleville, Illinois, a son, John Jordan of Phoenix, two daughters, Janet Fee of Glendale and Carryl Breon of Ashland Oregon, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A service will be held August 23rd at 10:00 A.M. at Greenwood Memory Lawn, 719 N. 27th Avenue. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Arizona Humane Society.
