Kahryn E. Nix Wolfe Obituary
Kahryn E. Nix Wolfe

Phoenix - Kahryn E. Nix Wolfe passed away on March 1, 2018 in Phoenix, AZ surrounded by her adoring family. Born February 16, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to James Pentecost and Renee (Pentecost) McNett. Kahryn moved to Phoenix in 1964 and graduated from Carl Hayden High School in 1965. In 1983, she graduated from the American Institute of Court Reporting and thus began her court reporting career. Being a true entrepreneur Kahryn opened her own very successful and well- respected court reporting firm of Nix & Associates.

Throughout the years, she merged with several court reporting firms and for many years has been "The Name to Know When You Need a Court Reporter." This slogan was the true epitome of who Kahryn was in the legal community as well as in life. She was the networking queen in social and business settings and quickly became known as "Queenie" to her friends.

Kahryn's personality, quick wit, vibrant laughter and "can do" attitude is what set her apart from everyone else. Not only was she a successful entrepreneur, in 1998, Kahryn became involved with the non-profit group, Phoenix Youth at Risk (now known as New Pathways for Youth) and was involved in fundraisers that were vital in helping youth achieve personal goals that positively impacted their futures.

Kahryn belonged to several social and business networks, Arizona Court Reporters Association, New Pathways for Youth, Women at the Top (WATT), the Rose Club, Social Venture Partners and Table 8.

Family meant the world to Kahryn, or as we lovingly called her K.K., "it's kind of like a grandma, only cooler". She encouraged and fiercely supported many of the young ones in her extended family to become strong, determined and unstoppable.

Kahryn's favorite past-time, apart from gatherings with family and friends, would be travel. In 2014, she married her ultimate love and travel partner, David. Together they enjoyed trips to Alaska, Paris, Portugal, Ireland, Iceland, Canada and the Panama Canal.

Kahryn is survived by her loving husband David, daughter Kayla (Enno), Step daughter Susan, brothers Lee (Deanna), Michael (Ruth) and Bruce. Sisters Cherri (Rick), Lisa (Tom) and Ann. "G-Kids" Lauren, Amanda, Jenna and step G-kids Alisha (husband Blake), Josh (wife Kristine) and four great step G-Kids Beau, Kennedy, Stella and Charlie. Kahryn is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

In memory of Kahryn, we are asking for donations be made in her name to New Pathways for Youth
