Karen; I am greatly saddened by your death. We worked well together, and I was pleased when you dropped by my home to say hello. You were one of the most pleasant and kindest people I have ever met. You're leaving shook up my world, because you were one I enjoyed speaking to often. I still have all your texts and emails and I can still hear your voice and laugh, (that part of you always made me smile). I will truly miss you.

My prayers are with the Karen's family. I will always consider it a honor to have known Karen. I had the priviledge to have worked with her at multiple units at DOC. I was always impressed with her wisdom, judgment and professionalism. We shared some great conversations about DOC and the life of a corrections officer. Swing shift has always had a more youthful staff and it was good to have a per more my age that I greatly respected. I have been blessed with many great people in my life and I consider Karen at the top of that list. I will truly miss Karen and treasure the memories of her.

My sister Karen truly had the biggest heart of anyone I ever met. Every time we spoke she reminded me that life was about loving and caring for others and not about possessions or your status in society. She never judged me. She wasn't afraid to live life to the fullest, jumping from airplanes, using every last penny just to have fun. She left us too soon, but will live on in all of our memories.
