Mesa - LEMONS, L.G., "Butch," age 93, of Mesa, went home to be with the Lord on 6/06/18. Butch was a WWII veteran, a Marine Staff Sergeant who valiantly served from 1942 to 1945. His professional life included being a surveyor for SRP and Maricopa County, a cotton farmer in Texas, and a Cost Estimator for various pipeline contractors in the greater Phoenix area.

Butch will be remembered as a man who loved God, his wife and family, and his Country. He was a generous, honorable, and loving man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing fast pitch softball as a pitcher in his younger years, fishing and bowling. He was an avid Diamondbacks and Suns fan.

Jeri, his beloved wife of almost 71 years, preceded him in death five months ago. Butch is survived by their 4 children, Mike (Sylvia) Lemons, Vicky (Jim) Bonds, Dave (Aly) Lemons, and Sonja (Don) Hickman; a brother Ray (Doris) Lemons; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter, as well as dearly loved step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation is Thursday, June 14th, 9am, with Funeral Service following at 10am, both at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary Chapel, 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phx, AZ 85042. Military honors and graveside service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, contributions could be made to American Bible Society, Phoenix Rescue Mission, or Honor Flight Arizona.
