Phoenix - Lita Casalino 88, passed away on January 9, 2019 surrounded by family and friends in Phoenix, Arizona. Lita was born in Holdingford, Minnesota to Lucy and Leo Katzmarek on September 5, 1930. She graduated from Wells High School in Chicago, Illinois. Lita and David Casalino were married on October 22, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois. They owned two restaurants, Dot's Spot in Oaklawn, Illinois and Barney's Italian Deli in Tucson, Arizona. She lived a wonderful and happy life with an explosion of energy and zest. She touched many lives and inspired many people. Her sparkly personality would light up the room. Lita was an avid volunteer for the VA and many other organizations. Lita is preceded in death by her husband Dave and her eldest son David. Lita is survived by her sons Mark and John; Mark's wife Coni; and two grandchildren Carla and Ben. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm Tuesday, January 15 at Hansen Chapel, 8314 N. 7th Street Phoenix 85020. Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Church, 11001 N. 40th St., Phoenix 85028, followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery, 2033 N. 48th St., Phoenix 85008. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Disabled American Veterans (dav.org/donate) 38 W. Dunlap Ave., Phoenix 85021. www.hansenmortuary.com for online condolences.
