Mitch (Mitchel) Tillotson

Prescott Mitch (Mitchel) Tillotson of Prescott, AZ, 82 yrs, passed away on Aug. 31st. 2018

He earned a B,A. and a M.A. degree from Arizona State University. He worked for 33 years in the Phoenix Union High School District. Serving over the years as a teacher, coach and guidance counselor.

Mitch served 11 years in the U.S. Air Force Guard as a 1st Lt, Air Police Officer.

He married his wife Jackie in 1979.

He enjoyed the outdoor lifestyle, whether hiking, camping, bow hunting, dirt bike riding, or Honda Gold Wing touring bikes.

Mitch was an avid runner, serving 3 years as President of The Arizona Road Racers.

After retirement he was trained by the Az. State Attorney Generals Office as a volunteer mediator for the courts. He had a sudden hearing loss which cut short this avocation.

While living in Flagstaff, he became the Volunteer Coordinator for the Flagstaff Police Department.

Mitch played several seasons with the Prescott Senior Softball League.

He and his wife loved to travel. Enjoying years of both RV travel and cruising, ultimately seeing much of the world.

Unfortunately, Mitch developed the relatively rare condition NPH or Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus; symptoms included problems with balance, gait and memory. Treatment included a brain shunt that was inserted by Barrow Neurological in Phoenix. This condition caused a very uncommon type of dementia.

Mitch is survived by his wife Jackie of 39 years. A sister Millie (Bill) Underwood, her 2 children and extended family. Two step sons, Thaddeus (Darla) Coffey and Christopher Coffey are of Phoenix.

Mitch requested that no services be held.
