Growing up in Chicago alongside his brother, Peter Norbut, Paul lived in a close Lithuanian community on the south side of Chicago, walking to White Sox Stadium as a kid and attending the Catholic school in the neighborhood. Paul was working for Keystone Plating who subseqently transferred him to their plant in MN. In 1971, he moved the family to Arden Hills, a suburb of MN where his second daughter Jenny was born."

Paul worked as a sales manager for Arrow Cryogenics Inc., a deburring and deflashing finishing shop, for many years. He traveled to Nashville and other places in the south east and made enduring friendships along the way. He loved his job.

After the children moved out, Paul and Linda moved to a town home on Majestic Oaks Golf Course on Ham Lake and also purchased condos in Scottsdale, AZ and spent the winters there. When Lisa, her husband John and Jenny moved to AZ, Linda and Paul followed, eventually buying a home in Gilbert, AZ in 2005. During this time, Linda was fighting cancer but was fortunate to get to know their granddaughter, Avery.

After Linda's death in 2008, Paul started volunteering at the Gilbert Historical Museum. He met Ann Wilson in 2010 and they were married on the front lawn of the museum in 2013. In 2016, he and Ann moved to Trilogy at Power Ranch in Gilbert. They enjoyed traveling and getting to know their neighbors.

At the museum, Paul worked the front desk and ran the Community Service program. He joined Gilbert Leadership and was a member of Class XX. Along with Ann, he was part of Gilbert's AZ Centennial Celebration, bringing Union Pacific's historic steam train to downtown Gilbert in 2012. Later he was on the Board of Gilbert Leadership, facilitating History Day for many years. He was serving his sixth and last year on the Board when he passed away.
