Robert Joseph Ciurro

Phoenix - Robert Joseph Ciurro, 81, passed away peacefully on Sept. 6, 2018. Bob was born on July 1, 1937 in Milwaukee, WI, where he was raised and later graduated from North Division High School. He entered the Army shortly thereafter, serving in Germany for several years, and later with the Army reserves. After returning, Bob married and in 1974 the family moved to Phoenix. He established a pest control company, which he maintained until this year and became friends with many of his customers. Bob was an avid golfer, and for several years, he served on the Board of Directors at Orange Tree Golf Resort. He loved Arizona Pro Sports, watching or attending most games; yet still remained loyal to the Green Bay Packers. The Wyndham Resort in Flagstaff was a favorite destination, where Bob served on the board for several years, and he also was active on the board of his HOA for 3 decades. A wonderful chef, he enjoyed preparing special Christmas dinners for his family. For several years he served with the Naval Reserve Station at Coronado Island, CA as a chef on weekends until retiring; and later volunteered with the Phoenix Rescue Mission. Bob is survived by his loving wife Susanne, sons Mark (Kim) of Milwaukee and Scott (Kathy) of Phoenix, step-son Chris (Cindy), brother Neal of Greenwood, SC, sister Barbara of Milwaukee and brother Peter of Milwaukee. He was proud of his 7 grandchildren Brooke, Crystal, Michael, Joseph, Tony, Anthony and Paulina and also Kirsten & Kyle. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rose Ciurro. A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018 from 1-4pm at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 W. Thunderbird Rd. Peoria. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Bob's memory to the Phoenix Rescue Mission or Hospice of the Valley. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting
