Obituary Condolences

Pitman, Dr. Theodore (Ted) DVM
Ted passed away on March 21, 2014 with his family surrounding him with love. Born in Virginia, Dec. 10,1943, to Edmond (Bob) Pitman and Mary (Plumadore) Abplanalp. He lived in Portland and Wilsonville, Oregon before attending OSU (Chi Phi). Because of his love of animals, he went on to get his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at WSU in Pullman, WA in 1969. He then moved to Arizona where he opened a veterinary clinic in Scottsdale and then in Payson. While in Payson, he was a member of the Gila County Sheriff's Posse and the Rotary Club. Due to a clinic fire, where he rescued many pets, he moved back to Scottsdale and opened Hayden Animal Clinic. From 2005 to 2014, he drove his mobile vet clinic, Noah's Ark, from Gold Canyon to Globe to care for the animals of that community. Children: Brent Pitman (Kimber), Brian Pitman (deceased), Michelle Naficy , Brad Armstrong (Nicole), Melissa Neveu (Charles) and Robert Pitman. Grandchildren: Madeline, Alana, Kaveh, Mitra and Elizabeth. He was a dear brother to Carol Mulder (Mike-deceased), Judy Vanderwerf (John), Alice Fagliano (Bob) and Dan Pitman (Janice). Also, many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Ted. Ted had excellent culinary skills - especially BBQ's he shared with many good friends and family. We could always count on delicious food and good times. He will be greatly missed. His Celebration of Life was held at Messenger's Mortuary on Pinnacle Peak on March 23rd.
