Obituary Condolences

Wyatt, James Robert
81, of Scottsdale, passed away March 3, 2014. Born May 17, 1932 in Morristown, Tennessee, to James McCoy Wyatt and Irene Bailey Wyatt, Robert was a former resident of Jackson, TN and Union City, TN. He moved to Scottsdale in 1971 with his wife Evelyn and began a life long career in the promotional products industry. In his earlier years Robert had a passion for hunting, fishing and became a very accomplished at the game of golf. At one time he held the position as President of Poplar Meadows Country Club in Union City. He was a member of Camelback Golf Club and Orange Tree Golf Club and Past President of the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce. Robert was a very disciplined individual always on time or early and honest to the enth degree. If he told you he was going to something, he followed through quickly and saw it through the end. If he couldn't help you, he found someone who could and made sure they followed through on their end. He never met a stranger and could carry on a conversation with anyone, especially if it had anything to do with sports or business. He was always encouraging and supportive to all, especially the many sales associates and staff members in business. Robert kept a small circle of friends to whom he was extremely loyal. He greeted everyone in his southern drawl saying "hey hon" or "hey son". Once you met him, he never forgot who you were, from where you hailed and how you made a living. No one ever forgot him and he will never be forgotten. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Evelyn Barham Wyatt. He is survived by his son J. Robert Wyatt, Jr. of Jackson, TN; step-son Charles Allen Barham (Lee) of Nashville, TN; his cousin Judy Stroud (John) of Morristown, TN; three granddaughters, Shea Alexandra Barham of Nashville, TN, Alissa Staggs of Humble, TX and Kimberly Cutler Perador of Humbolt, TN; two grandsons, Charles Allen Barham III of Nashville, TN and Rance Lee Barham Jr. (Jen) of Kansas City, MO. The Wyatt family would like thank Karen Lehman for her kindness, thoughtfulness and friendship with which she graced Robert and his family over the last ten years of his life. Many thanks go out to the Joseph Rose family for their 40 year friendship shown to Robert and his wife Evelyn. A memorial visitation will be held at 10:00am, Friday the 7th of March with services immediately following at 11:00am at Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, AZ, 85251.
