I worked shoulder to shoulder with Ralph Browning in the Pentagon, XOE. Ralph always knew what was wise, fair and true. He was through and through a good man, solid friend and loving husband, father and mentor. There was a quality with Ralph's manner that made it a real joy to be in his company. Those who met Ralph will never forget him. Ken Israel (Major General, USAF Retired).

I have a POW bracelet of general Brownings from the 1960s. I am now preparing my own final arrangements and so I would like to give the bracelet to someone who would appreciate it and what it stands for. We all need to remember our national heroes if anyone is interested in getting this bracelet, please let me know. I live in the Springs where he graduated from the Academy.

Yesterday I visited the "Healing Wall" a mobile replica of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial wall on display in our home town in New York. It immediately brought me back to the '70's. I was in high school. Many of us obtained POW bracelets to wear in support of those missing in action. Mine bore the name Capt. Ralph Thomas Browning. I wore that bracelet with honor for many years until the thin, rusted metal became unhealthy. His name stayed forever on my heart. I am embarrassed to say that may times I thought about researching him, but never did. However now, staring at that wall, I felt I needed to know - might his name be there? I never met him, but I wanted to know. My heart leapt with joy when my computer research showed that he did indeed return home. Thank God! How wonderful to know that he was able to rejoin his family and live a full life with them. I want to say "Thank you for your service" to him and his family. God bless you all.

I wore this bracelet as a boy to honor Captain Browning. I found it yesterday at my mother's home. I knew that he returned from Vietnam after capture but did not keep up with his career. I would like to send the bracelet to his family in his memory.

I am late with my message, but I only looked up BG Browning this evening. My condolences to his family for the loss of this great man.
I wore a POW bracelet with his name on it while I was in junior high in the Canal Zone. I got curious about what had happened to him so I looked him up tonight. I was sad to see that he passed away in July. I am sorry for the loss of this incredible man.

I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Browning many years ago. He was introduced to me by my boss at the time. I recall him making such an impression on me at the time that later I asked my boss about him.
It was then I learned of his time in Vietnam, which shocked and saddened me, so much so, that I asked permission to reach out to Mr. Browning and allow me to take him to lunch. I was delighted he accepted my invitation and he was a kind, intelligent, humble soul that left an indelible mark on me.
My sincere condolences to his friends and family.

Rest in Peace General Browning. I will always remember my time as your Enlisted Aide at Kadena while you were the 313AD/CC. You were a great Leader and People Person as well as a true military Hero. My sincere condolences to Julie and your family.

Just received the sad news that this great man had gone to be home with Jesus. He was the 313th Air Division Commander at Kadena and I was privileged to be his executive officer. I cherish the time assigned to his staff and I learned for the wisest, kindest leader. His first concern was "The Kadena Team" and their welfare. Thank you sir for everything you taught me. You will be missed.
To Julie and the family, may your grief be softened by happy memories and the knowledge that you be be together again in Heaven.

To all,
My prayers are with Tom and his family. I was one of his crew chief while I was stationed at Luke AFB. He was the best commander I ever had! He loved to fly the F-16, I was so proud to be part of his team! I named my youngest son after him. We have lost one of America's hero's! I attached a couple of photos of an F-16 model he gave me when he departed Luke!
God bless you Tom!

Tom was a leader in our cadet squadron right from the beginning. Clearly, the celebration of his life is a continuation of all the finest qualities of an officer, a gentleman, and a loving family man.

Tom's life was an inspiration to those who knew him. Those who knew him best will miss him the most. He was an extraordinary fighter pilot. I worked with "Tom" in a small classified office in the Pentagon called XOE in the early 80s. He was smart, intuitive and very approachable. The staff loved to bring new ideas and challenges to his attention - he resolved them. When Tom made General it was no surprise. He had the class, character and courage to go to the top. He banked a lot of his treasure in the hearts of his friends and we will miss him terribly. It was a unique honor to serve with him. Ken Israel, Major General, USAF Retired.

Tom and I were together at Nellis in the beginning years of the Aggressor program. As a leader and a pilot and a friend he was a great guy, always thorough and correct. We will all miss him at the next "gathering".

I have so many wonderful memories of "Tommy" as a close classmate. We were student council officers together and I cheered for him as an Edgewater cheerleader where he was an outstanding all-around athlete. His son Scott is my Godson. Tommy was one of the kindest people I have known and the leadership and strength he showed throughout his life is unbeatable. His sons and grandchildren are a legacy to this man who had a "life well-lived." My love to all of Tommy's family and close friends.

"T" and I were Aggressors together at Nellis. ..then he hired me out of Air War College to come to Luke with him. Kept me out of a staff job. One of my favorites.
One day we'll all be reunited for lives of eternal happiness. Miss you sir...and here's a handful of nickles on the grass for BG Tom Browning. GOD Speed to a true Fighter Pilot.
