Christmas day is tomorrow I know where you are this Christmas and that you are happy without any worries. Each Christmas you were the one to make sure we all had enough for our stockings, gifts under the tree and the Christmas dinner ready at noon. Even with all the holiday stress you were there to keep us all calm and happy. You gave us something to feel better every day of the year. I love you and miss you very much.

Well, Mom this is your children's first year without you on Mother's Day. Some of the fondest memories of you was when we lived in Safford. Hollyhocks, snap dragons & rose bushes in the front yard, mint & grapevines on the side of the house. Oh, what delectable aroma & taste, when you made grape jelly ( a little syrupy though). The most comforting moment was on a cold night , you made sure I was warm & covered me up snug. Thanks for your love, Elaine

Mom, It is hard to believe this will be the first Mother's Day without you. I want to 'Thank you' for giving me all the quailties to be a good mother. You had to have the "patience of Job" to be the mother to nine children. I will have wonderful thoughts of you today. I love you Mom.

Mom, this will be the first Easter without you and Dad. I have the memories of the Easter morning, waking up to find a basket for each one of us kids, then getting dressed in our Sunday best to go to Church, returning home to an Easter feast of ham with all the trimmings. I hope that each of your children will carry on this tradition with their families. I know that all of us in your family are glad to know that you and Dad are together again so that you both can watch over each of your children in their daily lives.

Well, I'm the baby of the bunch the last of nine! I'm so grateful that I had the chance to talk to Mom on her birthday, I had this gut feeling it would be that last time I would talk to her(not knowing it would be that soon) but I will always cherish our last conversation and telling her that "I love her" it holds dear to my heart.

Grandma,
I have many fond memories from when I was a small child and after I was grown, married and had a child of my own, you still took the time to sit down and write me letters and ask how my family was doing. You were my only remaining grandparent left and I truely regret not being able to have a close relationship with you as I got older. But, the memories of when I was young playing dolls with Samantha under the dining room table and getting up in the middle of the night sneaking food (you always knew)..proof on the fingers..but, you were always kind and sweet to me just like a grandmother should be...Thank you for those memories..You will be missed by many I am sure..:)..
Love always,
Patience Shearer

Mom, I will always remember you as the one who held our family together. Every time a new child was born there was always enough room in your heart for one more. You were always happy, never getting upset with all the things that we got into as kids, even when we dug up your newly planted tree in Safford. You will always be in my thoughts when I see or remember different things or places that we went together. I am taking your Puffin back to Alaska to be at home with me. I love you Mom and will greatly miss you.

Mom,
You successfully raised 9 children. That in itself is quite a feat. I will miss the humor that you brought to all of our lives. The stories of grocery shopping, bank trips and trying to decipher your writing. My memories of you are too numerous to count. Some of the more memorable ones are of you reading the Bible in the morning, when you got your brand new red walker ( it was like you had a new car!), baking bread, making a pound of hamburger feed all your kids. You have inspired me to be a better mother and woman. I will miss you greatly!
Love you,
Dawn
