Roma B. Felible Obituary
Felible, Roma B .
was a gracious, witty, and well-organized woman who exuded loving-kindness--everything a "minister's wife" should be. Born May 22, 1925 in Hays, Kansas, Roma graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. She married John Edward Felible and for 65 years traveled with him as he served churches in Illinois, Michigan, Washington, Kansas, Wisconsin and finally in Sun City, AZ. In each setting, Roma was an enthusiastic, joyful leader. In 1987 the General Synod of the United Church of Christ designated Roma as the "Honored Laywoman of the Year" for the service, leadership, time, talent and energy she gave so unselfishly over the years. As Moderator of the Southwest Conference of the United Church of Christ from 1989-1990, she earned such high praise that she was elected "Queen of the Conference." Her love of her family was evident in all she did. She will be greatly missed by her husband, John; daughter, Roma L.; and son-in-law, Robert E. Carolin, as well as Swedish "daughter" Margaretha and husband, Peter Graham. A memorial service will be held at noon, Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the United Church of Sun City, 11250 N. 107th Ave, Sun City AZ.
