Frances "Fran" Kovach Obituary
Kovach, Frances (Fran)
Frances (Fran) Eva Stoyek Kovach, 92, a long time Glendale, AZ resident, went to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on Dec 20, 2012, after breaking her hip a few months earlier. Fran was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grand-mother and great-grand-mother. Fran was a very devoted Catholic, attending mass regularly, member of Silver Bells, held various church treasurer positions, always helping out where needed, and always looking forward to reading on Sunday mornings. Her strong faith was evident as she lived a long and gracious life. Fran will always be remembered as a gentle and loving lady. She will truly be missed but will finally be in the presence of her Lord with perfect hearing. Fran, a former resident of Curwensville, PA, owned and operated Kovach's Shoe and Clothing store with her husband William. After moving to Phoenix AZ in 1969, Fran and William owned and operated Bill's Shoe Hut until retiring in 1985. Fran attended St Raphael, St Augustine, and St Vincent de Paul over the years. Fran was born on March 22, 1920, daughter of the late George and Veronica Golla Stoyek of Dubois, PA. Fran was preceded in death by her parents; husband William in 2005; son William in 2012; and brothers Albert and Joseph. She is survived by brother Edward Stoyek of Curwensville, PA.; daughter Valerie Fischer of Loveland, Ohio; sons Michael Kovach of Missouri City, TX. and Dennis Kovach of San Ramon, CA.; six grand-children and eight great-grand-children. A Memorial Mass and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raphael Parish Glendale, 5525 W. Acoma Road, Glendale AZ 85306. Arrangements have been entrusted to Best Funeral Services, Peoria, AZ. (623) 486-1955. Jesus promised "In my Father's house, there are many dwelling places. If there were not, I would have told you. For I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will return again, and then I will take you to myself, so that where I am, you also may be." John 14:2-3
