John and Marie Schrier Obituary
Schrier, John W.
Schrier, Marie
John W. Schrier, 87, passed away on January 27, 2013 and Marie Schrier, 86, passed away on February 3, 2013, from a car accident in Mesa, Arizona. John and Marie were married in 1948 and lived in Missouri until 1959. They then moved their family to Dugway, Utah, where they both worked as Civil Service employees until they retired in 1982 and moved to Hidden Valley, Arizona. John loved to work around the property planting trees and feeding the "varmints" as he called them. Both will always be remembered for their great sense of humor. Marie enjoyed making special dinners, having the family come to visit, and showing off her latest plate in her collection from all around the world. It was always fun for them taking visitor to see the "Great Cactus Way Road" In Hidden Valley for pictures. They looked forward to spending time with their grandkids and were very involved in the NARFE Chapter in Casa Grande, Arizona. In 2000, they moved to Mesa, Arizona where they enjoyed having weekly visits with their family and friends. Their love, kindness, generosity, and great sense of humor, which were exhibited daily throughout their lives, will be greatly missed by all. We are comforted in knowing they are together. A celebration of life will be held at the Alta Mesa Country Club, 1460 N. Alta Mesa Dr., Mesa, AZ 85205 from 1-4 pm on March 3, 2013. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to your local Veterans of Foreign Wars or The Humane Society in their names. They are survived by their daughters and son-in-laws; Sherri Garcia of Casa Grande AZ, Rhonda and Jan Kreuzer of Mesa AZ, Connie and William Christensen of Mesa AZ, and Lisa Vender of Tomah WI, by John's sister; Jackie Rainey of Pacific MO, Marie's sisters and brother; Marilyn Koechner of Tipton MO, Ruth Pettigrew of St. Louis MO, and Charlie Ryan of Lakehurst NJ. They were blessed with 11 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren, who will deeply miss them.
