Jerry Rodriguez

1950 - 2002

Jerry Rodriguez was called upon to return home to the Lord in His heavenly kingdom on May 13, 2002. He was born on May 14, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas and has resided in Bakersfield since 1966.

His father Frank in 1988, mother Celia in 1998, and his brother Richard in 2001, precede Jerry in death.

For over 20 years, Jerry was in the local automobile industry until his retirement in 1991.

He is survived by: his wife Cynthia, and son David; brothers, Frank Robert of Georgia, Raymond and wife Teresa, Anthony and wife Inez, all of Bakersfield. Sisters, Betty and husband Amando Hernandez of Texas, Sue and husband Felix Medina, Sylvia and husband Isidoro Terrazas, and Jayna Fisher, all of Bakersfield. Nacho and Carmen Sisneros, his father and mother-in-law of Bakersfield also survive him.

Christopher Terrazas, Jaclyn and Nicholas Rodriguez, Joe and Jason Hernandez, and Chris Silva will lay Jerry to rest.

Jerry will evermore be remembered for his infectious laughter, charismatic personality, and extraordinary sense of humor. Everyone he came across was left with an everlasting impression of the wonderful Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and friend that he was.

We are deeply grateful to all of Jerrys family for all of their support, especially Joe Hernandez, Celina Castillo, and Davids friends whom he welcomed into his home as his own.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2002 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bakersfield Family Funeral Directors, 701 34th Street. The Rosary will be at 7 p.m. at San Clemente Mission, 1305 Water Street. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2002 at San Clemente Mission. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery on River Boulevard.

I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and returning back to the Father. John 16:28.
