On Sunday, June 17, 2012, LILLIAN HABER BARKER, 88, of Catonsville; daughter of the late Arthur and Esther Marion Haber, (nee Sokoler); mother of Preston Arthur Barker and wife Vilde Hegland, Michael Barker and wife Betsy, Alice Cockey Higgs and husband Craig; grandmother of Kate Barker-Froyland, Callie Barker, Jennifer Cockey Devers, Alicia Cockey Howell, and David Cockey; great grandmother of Madison, Delaney, Lacey, Molly, and Quinn Devers; and sister of Jerome Haber.
The family will receive friends 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 PM today at ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL, P.A., 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester where a funeral service will be held at 8 PM. A private cremation will be held at All Faiths Crematory and Chapel in Manchester. A memorial service will be held 1 PM Thursday, June 28 at Charlestown Retirement Community, 715 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville. Interment with military honors will be held 11:30 AM Friday, June 29 at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlestown Retirement Community, Attention Benevolent Fund, 715 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228. Dear Michael and Betsy, My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. Having lost my own mother recently, I understand completely the devastation you feel. May you find comfort in one another and I pray that God grants you the strength to transcend your sadness.

Lillian was a sweet lady, and I will miss playing handbells with her at Charlestown. I'm sure she is playing handballs up in heaven. I send my sincere sympathy to her loved ones.
