My name is Marc Hirsch, a college and medical school classmate and friend of Charles. I was so sad to hear of his passing. We laughed, we cried, we carried on a friendship and reconnected in these past 20 years. I was looking forward to seeing him at our Med school 50th reunion. All my best to his family.

Hello, I believe I have Charles's copy of Freud's standard edition and found a ticket stub from October 1979. I'll attach a photo. Would you like me to mail the stub to you?

I am Len Zwerling - one of Chuck's BUSM classmates. We sat next to each other alphabetically and became close friends then. We also saw each other after med school in NYC when I was at Mt Sinai and Chuck was at Montefiore. Ironically this is now our 50th Reunion in Boston next month and I have been trying to communicate with my classmates to encourage them to come to the Reunion. I had sent emails and phone calls to Chuck got but no response - I heard his voice on the voicemail so I thought he was not able to respond for some reason. Tonight I Googled his office phone number and immediately saw his obituary. I am profoundly saddened by this news and will miss him greatly. We have not been that close lately but I always looked forward to seeing him and reminiscing. Our classmates will learn about this and we will memorialize him at the Reunion. Please accept my deepest condolences to you and your family. Chuck was a great guy.

Dear Shelley,
I'm so shocked and saddened to have heard today from our CHS class scribe that your beloved Charles passed away.
Charles and I were the best of friends growing up in South Orange and he was my prom date in 1963!
I treasured meeting you and your beautiful children when you were visiting NYC several years ago and regret not connecting more frequently with you and especially not being aware that Charles may have been ailing.
We shared a love of music growing up and always ended up at the piano, singing and playing and laughing.
He was always my champion and I, his, and I was so very happy that he created such a beautiful life with you.

I had no better friend in my youth than Charles.

My deepest condolences and love to you and your family.
