Kevin McLaughlin Notice
Kevin Charles McLaughlin, 25, of Laurel, MD, a gentle man, loving son, helpful brother, playful uncle and loyal friend who brightened the lives of everyone he encountered in his brief time with us, died April 28, 2018 after a too long and too private struggle with depression. Among his many talents, Kevin was an athlete and actor, equally comfortable delivering Shakespearean lines in a play or cross-court forehands in tennis. He was a man of principal who saw dignity in everyone and always gave strangers the benefit of the doubt; a strong-hearted, kind and gentle soul who held the world to a higher level of kindness. He leaves behind his parents, Michael and Jacqualine McLaughlin; sisters, Jillian O'Brien and Erin McLaughlin; brother-in-law, Sean O'Brien; nieces, Charlie and Maxine O'Brien; aunts, Kathleen McLaughlin, Maureen Howland, Monecia Davis, Rebecca Ocker, Debra Glodek; uncles, Michael Ocker, Henry Howland, Jerald Glodek; cousins, Kelly, Andrew, Jake and Samantha Farrell, Meghan and Kaitlyn Howland, Bailey and Robbie Oberholzer; a large extended family and more friends than he knew. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. "When he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars, and he will make the face of heaven so fine that all the world will be in love with night and pay no worship to the garish sun." ~ W.S.
