Robert "Rob" August Gibson, 57, of Spartanburg and formerly of Catonsville, MD, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at his residence. He was born on June 20, 1963 in Catonsville, MD, a son to the late William and Marian Detlof Gibson.

Rob had a long career as an automobile salesman at various dealerships in South Carolina and Maryland. He enjoyed music, sports (especially his beloved Baltimore Ravens) and helping friends and family whenever he was asked. He was known for his great sense of humor and his ability to fix anything broken. Rob will be sadly missed by all who know and loved him.

Surviving are his siblings, Joe and Barbara Gibson of Spartanburg, SC and Susan Beasley and Kevin Gibson of Catonsville, MD, plus a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends everywhere. Rob was also predeceased by a brother, Thomas Gibson.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no services held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, P O Box 8328, Greenville, SC 29604 or to The Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.

To all of the Gibson Family,

I was so sorry to hear of Rob's passing. He was truly one of the nicest guys I've known and I have some great memories of some great times with Rob over the years. Thoughts and prayers for all of you at this difficult time.
