Robert McClellan Notice
Robert Perry McClellan (Bob) of Selbyville, DE With heavy hearts and deep regret, Bob's family informs you of his passing. He died on Friday, June 22nd after a valiant struggle with heart disease. Born in Wilson, NY, he was the son of William (Leslie) and Opal McClellan. He was an accountant and worked for numerous companies during his extensive career. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Donna, two sons of whom he was so proud, Eric J. McClellan, (treasured wife, Jacqueline) of Olathe, KS and Peter D. McClellan, (loving partner Rebecca Flaherty), of Pittsville, MD, sister Patricia Stojak (Jim) of Lewiston, NY and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his brother William (Bill) McClellan of Lockport, NY. Bob and his family lived in Harford County, MD for many years – both in Joppa and later in Abingdon. He and Donna were currently living in Selbyville, DE – closer to the ocean where he spent many enjoyable hours fishing offshore. Bob squeezed every moment of life into living. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, wood worker, gourmet cook, (especially known for his homemade rolls and Christmas cookies) and former hunter. His zest for life, upbeat personality and contagious laugh endeared him to family and countless friends. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Saturday, July 14th at noon. It will be held at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home located at 19 S. Main St. in Selbyville, DE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Wounded Warriors or the Salvation Army. A second Celebration of Life service is scheduled in August in Wilson, NY. It will be held at Fillmore Chapel, the church where Bob was christened many years ago.
