William L. Cullip Jr. Notice
William L. Cullip Jr., born on August 31, 1932 in Wytheville, VA, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2018 at the age of 86. He graduated from Glade Spring High School in 1950. He served overseas in the Air Force from 1951 – 1954, after which he attended Emory & Henry. He came to Baltimore in 1955 and began working at the Martin Company in Middle River, where he met his future wife, Audrey (Cook) Cullip. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1963 and began teaching social studies at Dundalk High School. He worked summers at Bethlehem Steel. He returned to the University of Maryland to earn his Master's Degree. He moved to Joppatowne in 1963, where he coached baseball and basketball for Joppatowne Recreation Council and served as Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 978. He later taught for Baltimore County Public Schools' co-op program at Sparrows Point and Kenwood High Schools and was Assistant Night School Principal at Dundalk High School into his 80's. He also began selling real estate for Grempler Realty in 1976, and dabbled in rental properties for the rest of his life. He enjoyed going to Orioles, Ravens, and Maryland games, and also enjoyed fishing and crabbing. He was the son of William L. Cullip, Sr., and Georgia Creger Cullip. He was the brother of Evelyn Counts, Mildred Lee, Duane Cullip, Faye Helton, LaVerne Dye, and Virginia Cullip. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Audrey Cook Cullip. He is survived by son Kevin Cullip, Kevin's former wife Sarah Moore, granddaughter Hannah Cullip, granddaughter Rebecca Cullip, and son Mark J. Cullip, Mark's wife Lorinda Cullip, grandson Mark J. Cullip Jr., Mark's girlfriend Amanda Lemco, grandson Christopher Cullip, granddaughter Megan Cullip-Turner, Megan's husband Jacob Turner, great-granddaughter Mirabella Leigh Turner, grandson Luke William Cullip, Luke's girlfriend Taylor Eisemann, grandson Jordyen Cullip, and granddaughter Josie Cullip. Services were held at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc. on Tuesday September 11, 2018 at 11 am with interment at the Highview Memorial Gardens.
