I was so saddened to hear of Peter's passing. We worked together at A&Q in Rockville, Maryland. Peter was handsome, smart, quick-witted, a sharp dresser, a keen observer, a great social networker, and an amazing litigator. I remember as a first year associate, that he allowed me to observe him at trial (co-chair) and we enjoyed a long drive to Bel Air, Maryland at 5:30am. Upon arrival, he stated, "there is nothing like the smell of District Court in the morning," which made me laugh. He taught me the term Hagershole (which I use all the time and think of him). I taught him the word bling, which I am sure he rarely used, but years later informed me that he learned it from me. He was someone straight out of Grisham novel swirled with tiniest bit of Pelacanos' edge. It was an honor to know Peter. I will keep his spirit in my prayers. My condolences to the Coleman family.

Peter, you were loved by everyone who ever had the privilege of meeting you. Your kind, confident and humble demeanor will never be forgotten. The impact you made on everyone's life, is remarkable. I light a candle for you- as you lit up every room you ever entered. Your contagiously positive presence will forever be alive in so many of us. Im so saddened by the news and send my deepest condolences to the Coleman family.

I was just watching a rugby game with my daughter and thought of my rugby mate Peter while at the Claremont Colleges. I am deeply saddened to read that he passed this last year. He was always a class act and a competitive teammate. My condolences to his family and to all those whose lives he had touched. He'll be in my prayers this evening.

I am so saddened by the news. I dated Peter briefly and always found him to be so gentlemanly and sweet. It is so rare that someone as handsome and dashing as Peter would also be so kind and humble. He was truly a class act, dedicated to his work and those around him. He often spoke very lovingly of his niece and nephew and would refer to them as his "two favorite people." Everyone who met Peter just loved him. We were once in an Italian restaurant and the owner personally came by to chat and was so taken with Peter that he gave us a free dessert. I will cherish my memories of Peter. He was taken from us far too soon. Now he is with the angels. My deepest condolences to the Coleman family. - Nalini Pande

I am so sorry to hear the sad news of Peter's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Peter in Baltimore. He is one of the rare souls on this planet that always asked about you and your family and kids and life, before the conversation ever turned to him. He always put others first. He was truly a generous and decent and caring man.
Peter also was a great lawyer, who could diffuse tension with reason and respect, who could sort through any complexity with intelligence and diligence, and who was willing to cut someone a break while zealously representing his clients. His award for his representation of the homeless was such a big deal even though he humbly smiled it away as if everyone fights for the poor, the homeless, and the oppressed.
Peter represented our better angels and is an inspiration to me.
Peter, I will always get the cookie with the sandwich at lunch like you prodded me to, and I will give my kids a break like you always encouraged me to, and I will go out and do something good for people less fortunate in your honor. And I will miss you my friend. I wish we could go get that celebratory beer like we promised we would.
Rest well, Peter.

We remember Peter as a child playing with our children, as an exuberant boy at the beach with his brothers Joe and Nick, as a bright high school student, and later as a college student at Pitzer, and most recently at our son's wedding in New York where we learned of his challenging job as a lawyer. We mourn Peter's loss as we would one of our children, and extend our love and sympathy to his family, Nancy, Joe, Dana, Tate and Lucy, and Nick.

I am deeply saddened about the loss of Peter. We shared offices next door to each other while working in Baltimore. He was a pleasure to work with and share life stories with. He was a very kind man who left an imprint on everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Words cannot describe how devastated I am for this great loss to the world. I send my condolences to Peter's mom, brothers, niece and nephew. I hope over time the pain gets easier, and your memories of the good times you shared together help get you all through this very difficult time.
Sincerely,
John Cambardella

Pete was in school with me at Pitzer. Good guy, we ran in the same circles. He was smart and very popular, and a friend to all. Sad to hear of his passing. It did not surprise me when I saw that he worked with the homeless. That is really awesome.
