Albert Jerome Fecci passed away peacefully on July 7, 2021 surrounded by his family.  Al started life in East Harlem, NY born of immigrant parents from Parma, Italy. He was very proud of his Italian heritage. He worked in terrazzo with his father laying floors at Chase Manhattan Plaza, Madison Square Garden, and West Point Military Academy and also the map of New York State done in terrazzo at the 1964 World’s Fair.  He moved to Lincoln Park,  New Jersey in the 60’s to raise his family of five children. He opened the first Pizza Parlor there, was a volunteer fireman, and very active in Indian Guides, Cub Scouts, and coaching baseball. Eventually moved the family to Rutherford, NJ where he became a charter member of Unico, and was a Free Mason.  He also started his own business, Summit Sales where he sold welding equipment to the Brooklyn Navy Yard and such. He was a Manager of TW Smith Welding Supply on Staten Island for many years. In 1986 he purchased Jersey Coast Fire Equipment in Wall, NJ, a fire equipment service company, eventually moving the company to a bigger building in Farmingdale, NJ.  He retired in 1997 after having coronary bypass surgery. He became a volunteer in the Cardiac Rehab unit, helping others by talking about what he had experienced with his surgery. He volunteered at both Ocean Medical Center and Jersey Shore Medical Center. He was President of the Jersey Shore chapter of “Mended Hearts” which was a support organization for Heart surgery survivors and their families. He was honored by the American Heart Association for the work he did for Mended Hearts.  In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Phyllis and their many children and grandchildren. They moved to Golden, Colorado for several years, eventually settling back in New Jersey for good in 2010.  He enjoyed traveling to Italy and around the US. He was an avid reader, enjoyed bird watching, fixing watches, but mostly loved and devoted his entire life to his family.  He was predeceased by his parents Clementina and Giuseppe Fecci, his two brothers Guerino (Jerry) and Romeo Fecci, his cherished granddaughter Louise, and his beloved wife Phyllis.  He is survived by his son Albert D Fecci and wife Kirby, daughters Victoria and Bryan Hagar,  Alice and Tom Jurkowski, Maria and John Gatens, and Christina Fecci. He will be greatly missed by his  grandchildren Sybil and her husband Ryan, Tom and his wife Shauna, Caroline, Christopher and his wife Jennifer, Jack, Mark, John Jr, Nick, Jessica, Kristen, and Jamie, and his three great grand children,  Charlotte, Elizabeth and Theodore.

We are so sorry for your loss. Your Dad was a great man with a big heart... always kind and welcoming. He was the one who hired Barney to work for Jersey Coast and always treated him as family, not just an employee. We will never forget that. We pray that you all have the grace and strength to get through this time. Much love!
