Alberto Bru Obituary

Alberto Jaime Bru (Tito) of Littlerock, CA was a beloved Papi and Grandpa, passed away on March 14, 2021. Alberto was born on October 8, 1932 to Alberto Julian Bru and Maria Montserrat in Guantanamo, Cuba. He was raised and grew up in Guantanamo, Cuba where he later met and married the love of his life, his wife Maria Elena Aurora (sadly, she passed away January 7, 2002). They had a total of 6 children. Four children: Maria Elena, Maria Mercedes, Alberto Miguel, and Luis de la Caridad before immigrating to Los Angeles, CA, United States in 1970. This budding family settled in the city of Los Angeles, CA. They later welcomed the arrival of Lourdes Maria and Jorge de Jesus to complete the Bru family.

Alberto Jaime was the second of four children in his family. His parents Alberto Julian and Maria Montserrat had immigrated to Cuba from Barcelona, Spain. Alberto Jaime considered himself blessed to have had 6 children, 14 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic and was always very proper and articulate in his speech of the English, Spanish, and Catalan languages. Alberto Jaime always had a great entrepreneurial spirit, had a small tree trimming business, and regarded most as just having a “J.O.B.” He was conscientious of his weight/fitness and never left a party without showing his love of life by standing on his head.

Mourning his death are his sister: Sister Montserrat de Jesus; children: Eli (Paul) Castillo, Mercedes Bru, Alberto Bru, Luis Bru (Jessica Hoffman), Lourdes Bru (Ronnie Flores), and Jorge Bru; grandchildren: Vanessa, Christian (Melany), Sarah, Peter (Brittney), Rick, Anthony, Allen, Luis Andru, Emilia, Jonathan, Jacob, Lourdes, Kimberly (Manuel), and Danielle; and great grandchildren: Danny, Angel, Marissa, Xavier, Benjamin, Ellie, David, Gabriel, Sadie, and Eros.

Alberto had multiple godchildren and dearly loved extended family and friends. He was a great and driving presence in all the lives he touched. We will all remember his love of God and family.

Alberto Jaime will be greatly missed, but is now home in heaven with his wife Maria Elena Aurora. Someday we will all be happily reunited in heaven as he waits with open arms to greet each of us as we are called home.

Any donations for his funeral are greatly appreciated and can be sent to Venmo link: @AJBru813.
