Amalia Walters passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born, raised, and educated in Illinois, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Illinois before meeting the love of her life, Charles Walters. They married in Illinois in 1959 and moved to Novato, California in 1970 where they raised their family and shared many beautiful years together until his passing in 2020.

Family was the center of Amalia’s world. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her children and grandchildren, or filling her home with the comforting aromas of her holiday feasts. Whether it was Thanksgiving or Christmas, Amalia’s kitchen was the heart of countless cherished memories.

She was a faithful steward of Nativity of Christ Greek Orthodox Church in Novato, Amalia was a member of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society and sang proudly in the church choir. Her faith and her community were constant sources of purpose and connection in her life.

Amalia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles and her brother John Andrews. She is survived by her cherished children: Charles Andrew Walters and his wife Janette; Scott Walters and his wife Karen; and Valerie Nichols and her husband Ron. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren: Victor Walters, Lydia Walters, Jennifer Walters and her fiancé Gabriel Szyrynski, Jessica Walters, Ryan Nichols, and Christina Nichols and her fiancé Noah Vargas.

Family and friends are invited to the Trisagion service on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of Christ Greek Orthodox Church, 1110 Highland Drive, Novato. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church. Interment will follow the Makaria at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park, 1700 Pleasant Hill Road, Sebastopol.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Adobe Creek Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 331 Lakeville Street, Petaluma, California.
