AMEDIA L. ST. ANDRE

Amedia L. (Cattani) St. Andre, age 98, a lifelong Framingham resident, died Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Luisa (LanFranchi) Cattani and the beloved wife of the late Donald L. St. Andre who died July 15, 2008.
Amedia graduated from Framingham High School in 1944 and Emmanuel College in Boston in 1948. She taught Business for many years at Hopkinton High School, South Middlesex Secretarial School and Ashland High School. Upon retirement she traveled extensively with her husband Don and in later years she cherished her visits to Marco Island, Florida. An outstanding cook, she published her recipes for family and friends. She was also an avid gardener and she loved to read, spending many happy hours relaxing with a good book.
She is survived by her three children, Mary St. Andre Winzelberg MD, Susan S. Ukena and husband Thomas Ukena MD, Donald L. St. Andre, Jr. and wife Jeannie, beloved granddaughters Sarah Winzelberg Olson VMD and husband Benjamin Olson DVM, Jessica Winzelberg, Amy Lessner and husband David, Jenny Ukena Will MD and husband Ryan, Christina Phillips and husband Jeremy, beloved step-grandchildren Robert Hagmeier and wife Qi Chen, Lindsey Perez and husband Timothy, cherished great-grandchildren Aria, Abigail, Austin, Chloe, Vivian, Kaden and Charlotte, her surviving sister Doris Foster, her surviving sister-in-law Edith Cattani, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her beloved husband Don, Amedia was predeceased by her granddaughter Candice St. Andre, her son-in-law Gary Winzelberg MD, and her siblings Primo, Secondo, Frank and Mary Cattani, Catherine Nobilini and Elizabeth Resteghini.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Amedia’s life by gathering for visiting hours at Norton, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., Framingham, on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from Noon until 2 pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Rd., Framingham, on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery, Framingham.
The family would like to thank her caregivers Margaret, Michelle and Alice, her longtime physician Dr. Karen-Gail Brandse, and the doctors and nurses at MetroWest Medical Center/Framingham Union Hospital for their kindness and compassion during her recent illness.

We were neighbors of the St. Andre's on Clark Street way back in the 50's 60's and Amedia gave my mother, Kay MacConnell, her Spaghetti Sauce Recipe that my sister, Janet Cella, and I still use to this day. Our condolences to Amedia's family.
