Andrew Stewart Kenley

1955 - 2025

Andrew Stewart Kenley, 70, was born April 29,1955 and died November 22, 2025. Andrew was born to the late Andrew Sampson and Panthea Boyd Stewart Kenley in Portsmouth, Virginia.  

He lived in Virginia and in North Carolina with his parents and sisters. His favorite pastimes were shooting, guns, and hunting. Andrew also had a small cannon that he loved to shoot. He played in bands during his younger years.  Andrew owned his own contracting business, AS Kenley Contracting, in the Hampton area for many years.

His nieces and nephews considered him the “fun uncle”. He gave some great Christmas gifts and loved buying the fireworks for the July 4th fun.  

Andrew and Janet were married in Newport News, Virginia, on May 28, 1983 and were married for 36 years until her death. They made their life in Hampton, Virginia.  

Andrew is survived by his three sisters, Margaret & Emmett Allen, Clayton, NC, Panthea Elizabeth (Beth) Quillen, Whitesburg, KY, and Paula & Rick Harris, Snow Hill, NC; his cousins,  Andrea (Cookie) Thompson, Herbie Thompson, Greg Kenley, and Carol Kenley King; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Sampson and Panthea Boyd Stewart Kenley, his beloved wife, Janet B. Kenley, his brother-in-law, Don Quillen, and his cousin, Drew Kenley.  

Service will be a private family graveside service in Warrenton, North Carolina.
