Andrew Mason Esquilin

Andrew Mason Esquilin, born on July 17, 1993, in New Port Richey, Florida, passed away leaving behind a legacy of creativity, talent, and deep love for family. He was the beloved son of Colleen Francis Caldwell and Edwin Esquilin.

At the age of nine, Andrew moved with his mother from Florida to North Carolina, where he would grow up and develop many of the passions that defined his life. During his youth, he attended church regularly with his mother, a foundation that remained meaningful to him throughout his life.

Andrew was a remarkably talented and creative individual. He had a passion for travel and a natural curiosity that led him to explore new places, ideas, and artistic expressions. He especially loved cooking and experimenting with recipes, becoming well-known for his extraordinary baking skills. Andrew created countless cakes for others, earning admiration for his beautifully themed designs, including his memorable Betty Boop, Ninja Turtle, and Tinker Bell cakes. His dedication and artistry earned him both Best in Show and First Place honors for his wedding cakes.

In addition to baking, Andrew had a deep love for fashion and design. A self-taught seamstress and crocheter, he crafted unique clothing pieces and created numerous custom Halloween costumes that showcased his imagination and skill. His artistic gifts also extended into his community, where he had the opportunity to decorate the altar at Haywood Street Church in North Carolina on multiple occasions.

Above all else, Andrew cherished time spent with his mother. Their bond was the cornerstone of his life, and the moments they shared together were what he treasured most.

Andrew will be remembered for his creativity, his generous spirit, and the beauty he brought into the lives of others through his many talents.

His survivors include: his mother, Colleen Caldwell (Samuel Cartwright); father Edwin Esquilin; great aunt, Nancy Reed; siblings; cousins; other relatives and friends.
