Anita Flo Jarvis

1932 - 2026

Anita Flo Jarvis, 93, of Big Cabin, OK, passed away late Thursday evening, March 26th, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 17th, 1932, in Cleora, OK to John Foster “Foss” Viles and Marvell Ina (Baldwin) Viles. She was raised in Cleora and was a graduate of Cleora Public Schools.

On February 19th, 1949, she married Bill D. Jarvis in a ceremony in Vinita, OK. They made their home in Cleora where they raised their children and operated the family farm and dairy operation. 

Anita carried her fair share in the family business. However, she always would make time for family, especially the grand, great grand, and great-great grandchildren. One saying she always passed along to her family was “always remember to be kind and humble”. She was a faithful member of the Cleora Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two children, Jackie Jarvis and Sue Wadley; two sisters, Deloris Vaughn and Veda Jean; a brother, Lawrence Viles; two grandchildren, Matt Jarvis and Catherine Henderson; and a great-great granddaughter, Charlotte Morgan.

She is survived by her children, Billy Jarvis and wife Jan of Cleora, Barbara Chenoweth and husband Tony of Welch, Linda Shearhart and husband Bob of Grove, Shirley Jarvis of Vinita, and Mike Jarvis of Cleora; 17 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 30th, 2026, at the Cleora Community Church. Services will be held at the church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 31st. Pastor Ben Lively will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sixkiller Cemetery, Afton, OK.

Casket bearers will be Angela Mackey, Josh Jarvis, Chris Chenoweth, Travis Henderson, Kevin Jarvis, and Brandon Hale. Honorary casket bearers will be Jeff Wadley, Bailey Heronemus, Kyle Chenoweth, Rob Wadley, Luke Wadley, Pat Henderson, Shawn Henderson, Craig Jarvis, Brenton Hale, Scott Wadley, and Austin Jarvis.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Anita be honored with donations to the Cleora Public Schools.

Services have been entrusted to the Thomas & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Welch.
