Sylvia Ann Martin Cox was born December 24, 1939 in Camden, AR and departed this life to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at the age of 81.
Ann graduated from Fairview High School in 1957 - at which time she moved to Ft. Worth, TX and began working for Southwestern Bell as an operator. She met the love of her life, Bill, later on a blind date and married two months later on December 20, 1957. Bill was an Airman for the USAF and traveled abroad and in the states. While Bill was serving two tours in Viet-Nam she resided in Camden with her children. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, they returned to make their home in Camden in 1977 where she was employed by Montgomery Ward, JCPenney, and finally started her career with Bill Morrison in the pharmacy business for over 30 years.
Ann's hobbies were bowling in the women's league, avid reading and cooking, which her husband, children, and grands will certainly miss her chicken and dumplings.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Kurby Allen and Dollie Floyd Martin; infant son, Randy Cox; sisters, Carolyn (Billy) Avant, Judy (Don) Cooper, and Vicki Gibson; brother-in-law, Donnell Taylor; and son-in-law, Kevin Parker.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Willard Dean "Bill" Cox; and children, Lisa Parker, Mike (Cissy) Cox and Greg (Tiffany) Cox all of Camden. Ann is also survived by her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Tyler (Heather) Cox and their children, Averie, Mollie, Will and Lucy of Monticello; Robby (Hayley Jo) Cox and their daughter, Rowyn of Benton; Brandon (Bre) McAdoo and their children, Bryleigh and Barrett of Hot Springs; Tanner Cox of Little Rock; Colton (Madison) Parker of Hot Springs; and Lauren Cox of Little Rock; sisters, Joyce (Ron) Raney and Nicki Taylor of Camden; brother-in-law, Kent Gibson of Quitman, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her precious dog, Chloe and her friend and caregiver, Tammy Bakken.
Memorial service will be 12 noon Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11-12 Saturday before the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
