Ann C. McGrath, age 87, on August 11, 2021. Ann was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia and a devoted parishioner of St Jerome’s since 1956. Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years J. Vincent McGrath, and is the mother of Colleen Ryan (William), Vince McGrath (Sherry), Sean McGrath (Patty), Patricia DiSanto (Daniel), Stephen McGrath (Colleen), Matthew McGrath (Lori), Brian McGrath (Gigi), and Ann Elliott (Don). Ann is survived by 15 grandchildren – the loves of her life. Matthew DiSanto, Conor McGrath, Luke McGrath, Sarah McGrath, Danielle DiSanto, Alex McGrath, Nicholas McGrath, Elise McGrath, Aidan McGrath, Andrew DiSanto, Anna McGrath, Matthew McGrath, Patricia McGrath, Collin Elliott, and Olivia Elliott. Ann will be missed by so many friends and relatives including her sister Joan Becker, her brother Michael Cavanaugh and a large extended family.
Ann had a great zest for life – loved a good party, great music, the Phillies, Penn State and above all spending time with family in her home away from home -- Avalon NJ where just 3 short weeks ago Ann was able to vacation with her family.
Ann was active in all of her children’s lives from coaching to PTA, CYO, and relentless dedication to school activities at St. Jerome’s and Father Judge. She worked full time for many years at the US Attorney’s Office where she made lifelong friends. She was proud of her children and enjoyed large family gatherings like weddings, graduations, birthday parties….or simply any reason at all to bring everyone together.
Ann was a loving grandmother. Her grandchildren filled her life with joy and kept her youthful and laughing up until her final days.

I met Mrs McGrath when I was 4 years old, when we moved to Willits Road and the Gaul family (myself, Carol and our parents Jack and Floss) were lucky enough to share the same steps with Ann and Vince and all the McGraths. That is when I met Patty while we were moving in! Our families became friendly and when Ann was going to the hospital to give birth , which was quite often, Floss would watch some of the kids. Ann had a great smile and was a wonderful person and lots of fun. She will be missed.
