On Monday, May 15, 2023, Anna Zajas, of Lincoln Park, passed away at the age of 89 years.
Beloved wife of the late Ernest Zajas. Loving mother of Maria Schenke and the late John Zajas. Proud grandmother of Adam (Delanie) Schenke and Ryan Schenke.
Anna was born on September 17, 1933 to the late Anthony and Catherine Butski. Anna is preceded in death by her siblings Catherine Onfrak, Leonard Butski, and Loretta Smerzynski.
Anna was little, but she had a BIG personality. She would always let everyone know that "Dynamite comes in small packages!" The minute anyone met Anna they were fond of her. Along with her big personality came big love. Anna loved her family immensely and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. A strong faith and belief in God were also important to her.
Anna enjoyed life to the fullest. One of her favorite things to do was listen to music. She especially enjoyed rock music. Her favorite artist by far was Bruce Springsteen. She went to many of his concerts, but the one that is remembered most by Maria was when they were on the ground floor and they had to stand on the arms of the chairs to see the show. Anna's excitement at that concert was contagious. She enjoyed listening to Bob Seger too. Watching Tom Selleck and the Detroit Tigers were also top on her list of favorite things to do.
Anna will be forever missed by her family and friends.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Instate will begin at 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM.
