Anthony Louis Longi, Sr., 85, passed away peacefully at home with his family on May 1, 2024.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Michael Louis and Angela (nee Girasole) Longi. Anthony grew up in Mt. Lookout and lived most of his life in Finneytown and Montgomery. He retired from the Queen City Paper Company, and later worked part time for TriHealth. In the 1960s, Anthony proudly volunteered for two years as one of the first U.S. Peace Corps volunteers, where he helped build rural infrastructure in Sierra Leone.
Anthony was a devoted member of The Community of the Good Shepherd since 1994, serving for many years as a Eucharistic minister, volunteering numerous times with both the relief efforts in New Orleans to help Hurricane Katrina victims and with the church’s Whitley City, Kentucky service project.
Anthony was a positive, passionate, and present figure in the lives of his wife, children, and grandchildren. Hardworking and handsome, a faithful Christian, and proud to be Italian, only begin to describe Anthony. He took pride in his large family, and was the ultimate volunteer, a true “servant of the Lord.” He loved cooking his famous spaghetti sauce, not only for family and friends, but also for church fundraising events at St. Vivian and Sacred Heart, earning the nickname “Mr. Ravioli.” He also logged countless hours running the Finneytown High School concessions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Angela Longi and two brothers, Michael Jr. and Joseph Longi; and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (nee Bohn) Longi, children, Anthony Jr. (Kimberly) Longi, Maria Longi, Gina (Lester) Armstrong, Dominic (Kelly) Longi and Andrea (Joseph) Kurth, eight grandchildren, Alexander (Parker) Longi, Maxwell (Tory) Longi, Anthony P. (Sydney) Longi, Mackenzie (Evan Miller) Armstrong, Nathaniel Armstrong, Ava Longi, Emerson Longi, and Rocco Longi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 10:45-11:45 AM with a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 PM and reception from 1:00-3:00 PM all at The Community of the Good Shepherd, 8815 E. Kemper Road, Cincinnati, OH 45249. There will be a private burial service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to either Hospice of Cincinnati or The Community of the Good Shepherd C/O Whitley City.
A special thank you to all the nurses and aides with The Key and Hospice of Cincinnati for their love and support of the Longi family.

Went all through Cardinal Pacelli with Tony. Always so nice and kind to everyone. In later years saw him at our Pacelli 50 th reunion and a few times through our good friends, Mary Lou and Bill Sturgeon. Tony and Mary Lou were cousins. RIP Tony. A life well lived!

Sensing love and prayers to you and your family Pat, Tony, Maria, Gina, Dino & Andrea.
Tony’s warm spirit and love of life will be fondly remembered by all who know him. I shall miss his smiling face on Sundays surrounded by friends after Mass at First Watch. Many were drawn Tony’s positive energy and generous heart. He always arrived bearing jars of homemade tomato sauce and delicious homemade cookies with a warm smile and the latest update in his family whenever we had visits together. I shall miss those visits. Tony’s love of family, faith, community and compassion for others leaves an indelible impression on all
Who knew him and a great void is felt with his loss to this world.
May he rest in eternal peace and be forever remembered as a good husband, father and friend.

Pat, Tony, Maria, Gina, Dino & Andrea (and all your families). I am so sorry for your loss. I am grateful to have had Tony Sr play a part in my life - evenings on Hempstead in my hs & college years enjoying pizza and pasta as well as good company. As a young adult I felt his influence through my relationships with each of you. Tony was a good man who put family and others first while working hard in his service to them. May each of you find comfort in the legacy he has left behind, and the many memories you share of him. And, may God’s grace and care be with each and every member of the Longi family.
