Anthony “Tony” Messbarger, 62, of Elgin, died on October 17, 2022. He was born in Denver, Colorado on May 02, 1960, the second son of Jack and Donna Messbarger.
After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, he held a series of positions in the technology field, before finding his true passion working with those who truly needed him. His life revolved around helping people find sobriety. He was well regarded in the industry as a top-interventionalist and was known across the country for his unrelenting passion of championing drug addiction awareness and intervention.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish Tony’s memory are his stepmother, Diane Messbarger, his brothers, Vincent and Damien and his sister, Jacque (Waymon) Rogers, his two stepbrothers, Jeff and Jeremy Heath, numerous nieces and nephews, along with many friends and colleagues.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Mustang Plumbing Event Barn in Round Rock, Texas. A private graveside service will be held later at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery.
The family suggests that friends who wish to make a memorial contribution in memory of Tony can send a donation to Benchmark Recovery Center, 11503 Parsons Road, Manor, TX 78653 or your local recovery center of choice.

Tony was a special man with a tremendous heart for all. He was my friend and BIC (brother in Christ) and he expressed his warmth for us with a huge smile and a hearty hug and handshake. He was a committed member of our Men’s fellowship group for over 8 years. He anchored the group with truth and a pragmatic understanding of Jesus. His contributions to us brothers were sacrificial as he often left us with a piece of himself as he shared of God’s tremendous grace and mercy demonstrated in his life and those he dedicated his life in service. May he rest in the comfort of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Love love you and thank you for trusting me with your friendship.
