Antoinette Vigorito

Antoinette Vigorito (nee Bracaloni), 94, passed away at Staten Island University Hospital North on May 13, 2023. Born and raised on Staten Island, "GiGi" settled in New Springville in 1988.  She graduated from Curtis High School and began working in the Provisions Industry as a Meat Packer for Finast Supermarket and then dedicated herself as NYC Crossing Guard out of the 120th Police Precinct. She worked mostly at Four Corners near St. Teresa's School.

GiGi was a longtime parishioner of both Holy Rosary Church in South Beach and St. Teresa's Church in Castleton Corners.

A talented cook, GiGi delighted her family with Italian specialties, especially her Sunday Sauce and delicious dinners. GiGi was a fan of the music of Frank Sinatra and Englebert Humperdinck and enjoyed watching her Soap Operas on TV and more recently enjoyed watching The Incredible Dr. Pol reality program. Gigi loved animals also and had many dogs throughout her lifetime, as well as 2 monkeys and even raised canaries.

Antoinette Vigorito was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late John Vigorito who passed away in 1998. She was the loving mother of Ann Marie Lopiccolo and Richard Vigorito; cherished grandmother of Vincent and Christine and adored great-grandmother of Dominick, Drew, Gianna, Vinny and Dino. She was also the dearest sister of the late Frank Bracaloni.

A. Azzara Funeral Home, 183 Sand Lane, Staten Island, NY 10305 has been entrusted with Mrs. Vigorito's funeral arrangements which include visiting on Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. There will be a Chapel Service on Thursday morning at the funeral home at 10:00am. Interment follows at St. Peter's Cemetery in Clove Lakes.
