Antwoinette Sample

1981 - 2025

Better known as Candy, our beloved Antwoinette (Candy) passed away unexpectedly at the age of 43, on March 19th. Antwoinette Yavonne Sample was born with her twin sister, Andrala Sample, to Sheila Ann Smith-Hunt, August 3, 1981, in Heidelberg, Germany. She was a shy, sweet, intelligent, loving, free-spirited, beautiful mother of 4 children, grandmother of 4, loving daughter, cherished sister of 3 siblings, and Aunty of 9 nieces and nephews. Candy graduated from Jasper High School but attended Brookeland ISD the majority of the time. Candy loved her family. Everyone who met her was drawn to her nurturing nature and caring spirit. She never turned anyone away who needed her. Many people slept on her couch and ate at her house, she was just that type of person.

She will be most remembered for compassion. She created a welcoming home and had the spirit of acceptance. Candy was also very passionate about always doing the right thing, and she looked for the best in people, treating people the way she'd wanted to be treated. She loved her kids, grandkids, and nieces so very much. Candy will be missed by so many; she would want her family and friends to stay strong, stick together, and love each other.

Candy was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Murtha Mitch Hunt and George Hunt (Big Daddy), and a host of family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Antwan Armstrong, Ryckee Smith, Sydnee Smith and Tyson Chesser; her mother, Sheila Hunt-Smith; stepfather, Charles Smith; her siblings, Andrala Sample, Antwion Roberts, half sister, Tamarah Mack; and a host of family and friends.
