Arlene (Godshall) Heller, 90, formerly of Souderton PA, passed away on February 24th 2020 at Fauquier Health Rehab and Nursing Center in Warrenton Virginia.
She was the widow of George Heller.
Arlene was born in Souderton, PA to the late Hiram and Maggie (Freed) Godshall. She was one of 7 daughters, all who have already passed away.
Arlene was a loving, devoted, wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a former member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she was involved in teaching Sunday school and the choir. Later she became a member of Immanuel Leidy’s Church of Souderton where she participated in many different social activities. She was also an avid Bible reader. She enjoyed spending time at church and helping people.
After George passed in 2015, she moved to assisted living then nursing care in Virginia to be close to her son.
Arlene graduated from Souderton Area HS in 1947 where she was on the Art staff of the Senior Class year book, and in the chorus.
She was employed by Harleysville Insurance for 18 years from 1947 to 1965.
After having her son, Arlene volunteered many years at the Head Start Program and Indian Valley Public Library. Her interests were in photography, Christian music, flowers, gardening, and cultivating friendships.
Arlene is survived by her son Russell, daughter-in-law Denise, and grandson Matthew of Warrenton VA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on March 13th 2020 at 11am at Immanuel (Leidy’s) Church, 273 W. Cherry Lane Souderton PA, 18964; where friends and may meet with the family from 10:00am - 11:00am; followed by Burial at the adjoining cemetery.
