Arlene R. Miller, 89, of Bangor, PA, passed away peacefully at her residence on December 31, 2025.
Born on September 25, 1936, in East Stroudsburg, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur J. and Clara Mae (Bartleson) Shoemaker. Arlene was the cherished wife of Ronald E. Miller, with whom she celebrated 69 years of marriage last May.
A 1953 graduate of Bangor High School, Arlene dedicated her career as a personal assistant and housekeeper for Marion and Stephen Barlett in Mt. Bethel, PA. She was a devoted member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Bangor, PA, and actively participated in the Young Women's Club in Mt. Bethel, the Bangor Elks Ladies Bowling League, and the Green Pond Ladies Golf League. Arlene found joy in golfing, bowling, and spending cherished moments with her grandchildren.
Arlene is survived by her three sons: Randy Miller, husband of Kathy; Gary Miller, husband of Debra; and Brian Miller, husband of Kathleen DiFebo. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Tiffany, Daniel, Morgan, Tyler, Samantha, and Gabrielle, as well as seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her three brothers: Donald 'Curly' Shoemaker, Wallace 'Tyke' Shoemaker, and James Shoemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 6th, at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 AM to 11 AM on Tuesday, January 6th at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Johnsonville Cemetery in Mt. Bethel, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice - Development Office, 801 Ostrum Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015.

I spent many Thursday nights bowling with Arlene at the Elks. She was a fierce competitor but always had a smile on her face. My thoughts and prayers are with her entire family.
