Arnold Leonard Ohnstad

Arnold Leonard Ohnstad, age 96, of Longville, Minnesota, and formally from Cannon Falls, Minnesota, Goodhue County, passed away on September 19, 2012 at Bethany Good Samaritan Home in Brainerd.Arnold was born May 20, 1916 to Martin and Marie Ohnstad. He grew up and went to country school in the Sogan area.On June 25, 1940 he married Eunice Charlson at Urland, Minnesota. There they farmed and did general trucking in the area. Later they moved to St. Paul where Arnold worked for Indianhead Truck Lines until he retired in 1974. They then moved to their lake home at Outing, Minnesota and then to the Longville area.Arnold is survived by his grandson Andrew and his wife Lee, and two great grandchildren, Dominik and Teagan from Culpeper, Virginia. Also surviving are 2 sisters; Gladys Stenhaug of Cannon Falls and Inez Mills of Northfield, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.Preceding him in death are his wife Eunice, his son Ellis, his daughter-in-law Anne, his parents, two sisters, Stella Flom and Mildred Wiberg from Cannon Falls.Funeral services will be Sunday, September 23, 2012 at 12 Noon at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville, MN with Rev. Paul Svingen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be Monday, September 24, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Urland Lutheran Church Cemetery.
