With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Audrey Flo on January 31st surrounded by her
family after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on Aug 12, 1946 to Anna and William
Jenkins in Ute, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest daughter
Melissa. She leaves behind her devoted husband Larry and her two children Pam (Doug)
Howell and Greg (Amy) Flo. She has 6 beloved grandchildren Anna, Garrett (Kayleah), Emily
Howell and Madelyn, Griffin, and Lilia Flo who were the light of her life. She met her future
husband in elementary school and they married after highschool on June 12, 1965 and began
their life in Illinois. They began raising a family and Audrey started nursing school after the birth
of their son and graduated for the last time with a Master of Science degree in 1992. She
worked in a variety of settings during that time and ended her career as Director of Nursing at
the Dekalb County Health Department. In her free time, she liked to paint, ride horses, garden
and spend time with her grandchildren. In her retirement years, she was a dedicated caregiver
to her youngest daughter and was a prime example of what unconditional love looks like.
A visitation is scheduled at Conkle Funeral Home in Avon Indiana on Saturday February 8 from
11-1 with a funeral and graveside service immediately following. Family asks donations be
directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or charity of their choice.

Larry and family, I was saddened to hear of Audrey’s passing. Our family had many fond memories of time spent together. Vacationing in Wisconsin, neighborhood parties, playing darts, barbecues and cheering on the Bears. Please accept our condolences and prayers. Mark

I was sorry to hear about Audrey’s passing. Even though it has been several years since we had been in contact, I often thought about the fun times we had. Thinking of you and your family at this most difficult time.

I have a couple memories to share. When I was real young, we had a tree cut on the farm and baby squirrels fell out of the tree, Audrey took in upon herself to feed them with an eye dropper . It ended up being futile, but really showed her determination and compassion. Audrey was also guilty of my addiction to blueberry cheesecake, I still remember vividly, at thanksgiving in Austin, my first taste of it , and getting seconds! She will always be part of my best memories!
