Barbara "Bobbie" Collings Obituary

Barbara Brinkman Collings, of Fox Point, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the age of 95. Known as Bobbie, she was born on June 10, 1930, in Hackensack, New Jersey, to Victor and Kathryn Brinkman. She grew up in New Jersey, developing early the warmth, grace, and vibrant personality that would define her life.

In 1951, she married John K. Collings Jr., and over the next decade they welcomed four children: Jeffrey, Deborah, John, and Mark. Bobbie devoted herself to raising her family, creating a home filled with love, tradition, and laughter.

Bobbie moved to Milwaukee in 1968 and quickly fell in love with the community. She planted deep roots there, and although John’s career took them to Atlanta in 1978, Milwaukee always held her heart. After John’s passing in 1981, Bobbie returned to Wisconsin, confident it was where she belonged, and began the next chapter of her life.

She remained deeply engaged in the community, participating in both local and national chapters of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America and dedicating many years to the Indian Agency House in Baraboo, Wisconsin. An avid golfer, fly-fisherwoman, and gardener, Bobbie embraced the outdoors with enthusiasm. Above all else, she was a devoted mother and grandmother to eight grandchildren. She placed family at the center of her life and was intentional about creating moments that brought her children and grandchildren together.

Bobbie will be remembered as beautiful both inside and out. She was gracious, generous, and full of life. To know her was to love her, and she was deeply loved by her family and friends in return.

Bobbie is survived by her four children, Jeffrey (Sandee), Deborah, John (Bonnie), Mark (Leslie), eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A devout patriot, she especially cherished the Fourth of July. In keeping with her wishes, a celebration of her life will be held around her favorite holiday.

I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of our wonderful long-time neighbor Bobbie. We always knew it was her behind the wheel when we saw the Packer flags flying from the rear windows.
