Barbara A. Aaronson McMurray, 95, of Delphi, passed away unexpectedly at her office in Lafayette, on Saturday-November 19, 2022, at 9:59am. She was born November 18, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Robert & Ida Aaronson. Her marriage was to Paul H. McMurray in Lafayette, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 1998. Barbara was raised in Jersey City and graduated from high school there. After moving to IN, and settling in Lafayette, she obtained her Real Estate & Broker Licenses, and she and her husband founded Purdue Realty of Lafayette. They did business in Lafayette and West Lafayette for many years, and Barbara would drive from Delphi to her office in Lafayette every day. She had attended the Synagogue in Lafayette, and more recently the Temple Israel in West Lafayette. Barb loved her independence, maintaining her own home, and loved being able to still drive at age 95. She was a shrewd businesswoman and ran their realty business on all aspects up until the day she passed away. She attributed her strong work ethic to her never being sick, and always having her faculties and mind. Barb was an avid reader and loved music. She loved living on the river and enjoyed its beauty and appreciated her neighbors who grew to be very close to her. Surviving is a daughter Annette Burnstein Ciovacco of Fishers, grandson Anthony & Lesley Ciovacco, great grandchildren Jayden, Ryan, & Liam Ciovacco. She was preceded in death by her son Don Burnstein and a brother Hubert Aaronson. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday-December 7, 2022, at 1:00pm, at Masonic Cemetery in Delphi. Abbott Funeral Home, Inc., Delphi, is assisting the family with arrangements. To view her obit or send an online condolence to the family, visit: http://www.abbottfuneralhome.com

I am sorry to hear about the passing of Barb, I had known her for quite awhile. My late husband and I loved her to pieces. When Larry passed in 2012 she wrote me an awesome letter. Barb held my wedding reception in the basement of her business. I was thinking about her last night and was wondering how she was and happened to find she passed, Talk about about one heck of a lady. My heart goes out to your family.
