Barbara Jean Walling-Burke, 73, of Hartshorne, died Tuesday in Tulsa.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Apostolics of McAlester, officiated by Bro. Terry Ray Williams and Bro. Joel Price.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Burke, Dean Burke, Dale Burke, Blake Burke, Daniel Burke, Mason Bond. Ryan Bolland, and Christopher Cartlidge.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
Barbara was born to George and Ruth (Douglas) Janisch on September 6, 1944 in San Jose, California. She grew up in the San Jose area.
She married Harry Allen Walling when she was 15 and was widowed at the age of 19. She married Freddie E. Burke.
Barbara was a licensed master plumber, and owned and operated Burke Plumbing in Hartshorne for over 30 years.
She was an accomplished writer and artist. She enjoyed painting and writing poetry. She was a member of the Hartshorne First Baptist Church and the Apostolics of McAlester. She was the vice president of the Hartshorne VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her beloved companion and friend: Paul Marean of the home; sons: Patrick Walling and Carol of McAlester, Harry Allen Walling, Jr. and Wendelin of Orlando, Florida, Jason Burke and Sandra of Hartshorne; daughter: Coleen Shin and Steven of Dallas, Texas.
Also grandchildren: Lori Walling, Shaughnessy Walling, Christopher Brumley, Tonya Simon, Barbara Rose Walling, Elizabeth Burke, Mina Burke, Lily Burke, Emily Burke, Trevor Shin; numerous great-grandchildren; brother: David Findley of California; sisters: Ruthann Tony of Sequim, Washington, Ellen Gray of Canby, Oregon, Kathy Janisch of Sylvania, Georgia, Virginia Wertman of Jenks; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband: Harry Allen Walling; second husband: Freddie E. Burke; brothers: Pat Findley, George Janisch; and a sister: Betty Muller.
