Her additional activities included playing piano for the Lions Club, performing with the Sapulpa Community Players in various melodramas, and teaching piano lessons. She touched so many lives throughout the years, and has never gone anywhere that someone didn’t know and love her.

Belinda enjoyed playing classical music on the piano, gardening, planning trips and traveling, camping, fishing, embroidery, and spending time with her family, friends, and beloved Mitzi.

Belinda is survived by her husband, Robert McCormick; daughter, Sarah and husband EC Gabehart of Lafayette, LA; son, John Robert and wife Rebecca McCormick of Sapulpa; brother, Dr. James Mahaney of Tahlequah; and nephew, Nick and wife Allie Mahaney of Tahlequah.

Belinda was the consummate musician who loved what she did and showed that love through her teaching of hundreds of students. Never saw her but what she had a beautiful smile on her face. Heaven is richer today and the Oklahoma students and music colleagues are too, because of her sharing herself with us. She will be missed.

Mrs. McCormick was my music teacher at Woodlawn. I may have had her the first year she was there. I'm not a talented singer, but from her I learned how to read music and the logistics of singing. The old voice just dcooperate. She was a delight. Even though she was a petite woman, she knew how to keep the rowdy kids in line. They never pulled anything over on her. She stands out as one of my favorite teachers of all my years on the "block". As I affectionately call my 12 years on the block that is Woodlawn, SJHS and SHS. She often spoke of her husband, Sarah and John Robert, telling us so many stories about them. She was a true treasure. My heart goes out to her family. May the GOD of love give you comfort and peace.

As I scrolled through all of the kind thoughts of our beloved Mrs. McCormick, many memories come flooding back. She was that bubbly, happy, always positive upbeat music teacher that everyone talked about, and everyone loved! I was honored to have her as my very first accompanist the first time I sang at solo and ensemble competition, and I enjoyed all of the many times she accompanied our high school choir. There will never be another Belinda McCormick! As many of you have said, she remembered us no matter how long it had been, and Mrs. McCormick, we will remember you forever!! Heaven has gained a very precious angel. My prayers go out to the family.

This little lady was my music teacher at Woodlawn school. Great teacher, I have never forgotten her and her making our choir sound like little professionals. A joyful little package of dynamite. I offer my prayers to the family and know that She has seen the face of God.

May God bless and keep the family during this time. Mrs. McCormick was my music teacher in elementary -- she made it all so fun and exciting. I was blessed when my oldest daughter had her as a teacher in Jr High. She did always seem to remember you - no matter how many years past. One of the best in education -- loved her - a true loss but Heavens gain.

Mrs. McCormick always poured into me as my choir teacher at a time when I really needed it. She mentored me and brought out of me things I never thought possible, even when I did not deserve it because I was not the best student. Her dedication and leadership made a significant impact on me and I will be forever greatful. My prayers are with the McCormick family.

Gary and I are so sorry for the loss of this amazing woman. We heard such wonderful stories about her from JR and Rebecca. Having a son who holds his mother in such high esteem is a tribute to those who raised him. Thankfully, your faith and the knowledge that your mom is with God will sustain all of this family. Love and prayers to you all.

Belinda was such a good friend. I admired her dedication to her students. Both of my daughters were priviledged to be her students. I consider them to have been very fortunate.

Prayers for peace and comfort to the McCormick family. I remember her fondly as a spunky little choir director that helped shape my early years in music. She also overlooked a lot of shennanigans from me and my class of 1995 peers. She will be greatly missed.

Mrs. McCormick was one of the most talented, caring, and sweetest person I had the privilege of knowing. She was my music teacher in grade school. She was so encouraging and made class so much fun. Even at grade school age, I was in awe at all the energy, spunk, and sincere caring wrapped up in that short tiny beautiful teacher. She was still serving in education in a different capacity when my girls were in school. It was always a joy running into her at school and in the community. Never missed my chance for a hug. Heaven has gained a very precious angel. My thoughts and prayers go out to all her family. I will always cherish this special lady.

Mrs McCormick was my music teacher as well. She was always encouraging and inspiring me to stretch myself. I loved her bubbley personality her love for her family and Christ. She always seemed to bring out the very best in her students. For years after I graduated I would run into her at different places, she always called me by name and asked about my family. I marveled at her memory after teaching so many students. She was certainly the highlight of my day while in school. Her contributions as a music teacher definitely made this world a brighter place. My prayers for comfort are with her family. Until we meet again may you rest in the arms of Jesus.

It breaks my heart to hear that her time here on earth is over but I know she is smiling down on all of us from above. She has touched so many hearts over so many years through church, working at the school and just everywhere she went. She was the reason I got into Choir at the church and continued for so many years after. Everytime I entered the doors of the church I knew I had a huge hug coming from one of my favorite people. Prayers go out to her family and all of her friends.
