Ben Garrett

1979 - 2021

Benjamin Garrett, resident of Pine Grove, CA, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, in Jackson, CA at the age of 43 years old. He was born January 21, 1978, in Orland, CA.

Family and friends came first for Ben. He was a loving father, husband, son, brother and uncle. Ben met the love of his life, Jennifer, in college at Chico State. They were married for 14 years and had two children. He loved being a dad to his daughter Kaylee and son Gavin. You could always find him beaming with pride from the bleachers of their gymnastics meets and shows at fair. Ben was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was also a talented craftsman who liked tinkering and creating beautiful wood cutting boards and furniture in his spare time. Ben taught high school Agricultural Mechanics in Manteca Unified School District, where he was able to share his passion and skills with his many students.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer, his daughter Kaylee and son Gavin, all of Pine Grove, CA; his parents Ronny and Ruth Garrett of Orland, CA; his sister Veronica (James) Friday of Hagerstown, MD; along with big extended families including many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Italian Picnic Grounds in Sutter Creek, CA. Guests are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
