To Ben Halterman Family:
I hope I have the right Ben Halterman and
sorry to hear of his death. I am thinking
Ben married my grandmother Anna Canterbury Wickline sister Mary and remember having one son but don't remember the name of son. They use to come see my grandmother and Ben would always be so nice talking to us because we were small than. But our age has caught up with us now. Hoping all the family will have strength to get through this as it is hard to loose a father.
May God Bless you.

Please accept my sincere condolences to all of the Halterman family. As Abby referred to him, "Big Ben" sure made a name for himself in Wilmington and the surrounding areas. I knew him as the mayor, Ms. Mary's husband, as Charlie's and Lillian's dad and grandfather to Jason and Abby! God has called him home and for that be grateful, as we are taught that heaven is the ultimate house of God! May God bless you all with peace and fill your hearts with fond memories. Love in Christ, Terry Strandquest

Ben will be missed by many of his Southern Bell telephone employee friends. We had many a good discussion on the "world's problems" in our break room. He was a very caring and compassionate person. Heaven is a little brighter now!!

To the family of Mr. Halterman,

My dad and Mr. Halterman were friends all my life until my dad passed a few years back. I would go as a boy to play golf with them and make it a big deal that I "played golf with the Mayor" He was also our insurance agent as well and was almost like a brother to my dad through our difficult times as well as good. I remember he would always sit back in a conversation and close his eyes as he was coming up with his thoughts. Even though I was a child he always talked to me as though I were older and I always appreciated that. May God comfort you during this time.

I grew up knowing and loving Mr. Halterman. He and my dad worked together at Jefferson Standard/Pilot. I ran into him from time to time after my dad retired and Mr. Halterman was always the same. I am so sorry for your loss and pray that God will wrap his healing and loving arms around you in this time of grief. Terri Britt Marks Wilmington, NC
