Benjamin Guillermo Trejo-Mejia

1979 - 2017

It is with great sorrow that the family of Benjamin Guillermo Trejo-Mejia announces his sudden passing at the age of 38 years. Ben will be lovingly remembered by his parents Teresa and Guillermo, his grandmother Beatriz Furr and by his sisters Mariza and Briana. He will also be remembered by his nieces and nephew and his extended family and dear friends.

Ben grew up and spent most of his life in Antioch. He graduated from Antioch Sr. High School and UC San Diego.

Ben lived large. He listened, but did not take advice. He was a dreamer. He was always looking for adventure but fearful of the first steps.  He was charismatic, he had followers. He could enter a room and brighten it with his smile, his attitude, or just his presence. He had "it.” He had a wealth of knowledge and would quiz everyone on trivia to test how smart they were. While he often was the life of the party he also was a homebody and most comfortable sitting on the couch watching tv. Short in stature but tall in personality, he charmed everyone with his dry wit and helpful spirit.

A Celebration of Ben's life will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 3:00pm at the Pittsburg Funeral Chapel, with Fr. Bruce J. Lery officiating.

 Memorial donations in memory of Ben can be made to the Rainforest Alliance or a charity of your choice.
