Bernice L. Sukiennik

1928 - 2022

Bernice Lottie (Ozimek) Sukiennik, 94, of Chicago, passed away on November 24th 2022,  on her 94th Birthday from natural causes.  She was predeceased by her parents, Walter Ozimek and Anna Stompor Ozimek; her brothers Edmund Ozimek and Chester Ozimek, and her son Stephen Sukiennik.  She was survived by her son Michael Sukiennik and his wife, Christina Sukiennik; granddaughter Jane Karr, and great-grandsons Henry and Benjamin Karr; step-granddaughter Nicole Gibbs and step-great-granddaughter Feliciana Gibbs.  After raising her children, Bernice began a career at the U.S. Postal Service, later retiring as a supervisor at the O’Hare Field Foreign Mail Center.  Bernice, 94, lived independently on the second-floor, always taking the stairs and the bus to her favorite stores.  A more capable and sharper woman never existed.  She will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held in her honor at 9:00am on Thursday, December 1st, at Lawrence Funeral Home, 4800 N. Austin Ave., Chicago, IL with a 10:00am service following shortly after. Interment at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery in Niles.
